Local Author Suggestion

Local authors, interested in seeing your book in GPL’s collection?

If you have published a book in print format and are interested in the library adding your title to our collection, please fill out the form below to submit your title to be reviewed by our Collections Team.  Submissions are reviewed within the context of the library’s established selection criteria outlined in our Collections Policy. Titles must have an original publication date within the past three years. We consider any author who currently resides within Georgina to be a Local Author.

Due to the volume of submissions, we are unable to connect with authors individually, nor can we confirm whether we have decided to add the work to our collection. If the title is accepted, the item will be purchased through the library’s vendor and added to our catalogue; we do not accept donations of titles.
If your work is not already available within our vendor’s catalogue, then we will submit a request for the book to be added on your behalf. Please note that if this step is needed additional time will be required to acquire your title.

If your work is available in multiple formats (e.g. print, eBook), GPL will determine which format will be added to the collection. Multiple formats will not be added unless there is demand.

How to be considered

• Complete the application form
• If accepted, one copy of the work will be purchased for our Keswick location, unless otherwise decided by the Collections Team
• We recommend that you include additional information about your book(s), such as reviews or press releases
• GPL will only add books purchased from our vendor to the collection; books donated to the library will not be added to the collection and will become property of GPL. We are unable to return a book if we decide not to include it in our collection.
• Fill out one form per book.
• Maximum of 3 submissions by any one individual in a calendar year
