How to Get a Library Card
How to Get a Georgina Public Library Card
Visit any of our four branches to register for a library card. To sign up, bring one piece of identification showing your name and current address. Accepted forms of identification include:
- Driver's licence
- Property tax bill
- Student card or proof of enrolment at an educational institution
- Proof of employment (such as an employment letter or recent pay stub)
Library cards are free for anyone who lives, works, attends school, or pays property taxes in Georgina. We also have reciprocal borrowing agreements with:
- Aurora Public Library
- Newmarket Public Library
- East Gwillimbury Public Library
- King Township Public Library
- Markham Public Library
- Richmond Hill Public Library
- Vaughan Public Library
- Brock Township Public Library
If you borrow materials from one of our reciprocal partner libraries, they must be returned directly to that library. Georgina Public Library cannot return these materials on your behalf.
Additional information:
- Children under 13 require a parent or guardian to co-sign their membership and accept responsibility for borrowed materials.
- You must present your library card to borrow physical materials.
- Library cards must be renewed every two years. At renewal, you will be asked to confirm your eligibility and update your contact information.
For complete details, please read our Membership Policy.
Non-Resident Memberships
If you do not live, work, attend school, or pay property taxes in Georgina or one of our reciprocal partner municipalities, you can purchase a non-resident membership:
- $30 per person, per year
- $50 per family, per year
