Friends of the Library

Who are the Friends of the Library?

The Friends of the Library (FOTL) is a non-profit volunteer group structured to provide support to the Library, fundraise to supplement library programs and services, and promote awareness of the role of the Library within the community.

If you’re interested in volunteering and supporting your local library, consider attending a Friends of the Library meeting!

It’s a great opportunity to get involved, meet fellow library supporters, and help make a difference in your community.

Fundraising Events

The Friends have been involved with organizing and hosting fabulous events to raise funds and awareness for the library. When more in-person events can be held, we do look for volunteers.

  • Sutton Fair Spelling Bee
  • Author Visits
  • Scrabble Tournaments

What have our events provided for the library?

Some of our events raise money. We have been able to fund:

  • LEGO  building blocks and LEGO Robotics Kit (Mindstorm)
  • Jazz in the Library
  • Audio Cine Films Inc. movie license for Keswick Branch
  • Games
  • Display plinths and materials
  • MakerBot Mini 3D printer
