Blind Date with a Book: All locations--Begins Tuesday, February 3 until Friday, February 20

All locations
Tuesday, February 3 until Friday, February 20

Discover your next great read… without judging it by its cover!

Looking for something new to read? Try a Blind Date with a Book at Georgina Public Library! Visit any GPL branch with your current Georgina Public Library card and choose from our selection of mystery-wrapped “blind date” books. Check one out with the help of our friendly staff, take it home, and enjoy the surprise.

Once you’ve finished (or sampled!) your book, tell us how the date went—was it a perfect match or a terrible date?
Fill out a ballot and you’ll be entered into our Grand Prize Draw.

 How it Works
  • Visit any Georgina Public Library branch with a valid GPL card
  • Choose a wrapped Blind Date with a Book
  • Check it out and enjoy your mystery read
  • Complete the ballot included with your book
  • Return the book within the three-week lending period
  • Submit your completed ballot in the ballot box at the branch

Each completed ballot is entered into the Grand Prize Draw at the end of the contest!

Contest Details

All Babies Count (ABC) Prenatal Nutrition Program is a free weekly program for mothers who need extra support during their pregnancy. Expecting mothers learn about nutrition, pregnancy, and parenthood. Open to all prenatal mothers living in York Region until their babies reach 6 months of age. Facilitated by Rose of Sharon. To register, please contact Aura Reynoso, ABC Site Coordinator-North, at 289-301-9944.

Rose of Sharon provides free supportive programs and educational services in York Region to pregnant and parenting youth (14-29 years) while they build greater stability in their children's lives. These programs empower young mothers to embrace their strengths, continue high school, build parenting skills, increase child development knowledge, receive personal counselling, and have access to food and practical supports needed to raise healthy children. Offered online and onsite in a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space, youth parents set goals and work toward building the future they envision for themselves and their little ones. Rose of Sharon is a registered Canadian charity. 100% of the free programs and services that we offer are funded thanks to community donors and program funders.
