hoopla has released TV apps for AppleTV, AndroidTV, Roku, and Amazon FireTV 3rd Generation as well as the Chromecast Ultra device. Patrons can download a hoopla app to view content on their televisions. hoopla is not compatible with Kobo eReaders since they currently only support viewing in ePub, Adobe PDF, plain text, and HTML. The device must be able to download the hoopla digital app for it to be a compatible device as well as it has to run one of our supported operating systems. hoopla works on most devices running Android 4.4 and above and then all devices that run iOS 11.4 and above.

Need to know how to set up hoopla on your TV, please read the hoopla FAQ page.

After downloading the hoopla app, you can download content to your device.

How to download movies, TV shows, audiobooks and music:

  1. After you borrow an item, you'll see its info screen.
  2. Tap the download prompt or Download to your device.

Next tap the item's title to the right of its cover. If you tap the cover instead, the item will open. Tapping the title will take you to the info screen where you can Download to your device. The item will download; these are large files and can take several minutes. Once downloaded, the download prompt will now say This Title is Downloaded, with the option to delete it.

Kids Mode: open the hoopla app on your device, select "settings", and flip the toggle to put hoopla into Kids Mode. Doing so only affects the device and not your account. Need to turn off Kids Mode? Simply go back to settings and flip the toggle back to off.
