Blind Date with a Book: All locations--Begins Tuesday, February 3 until Friday, February 20

All locations
Tuesday, February 3 until Friday, February 20

Discover your next great read… without judging it by its cover!

Looking for something new to read? Try a Blind Date with a Book at Georgina Public Library! Visit any GPL branch with your current Georgina Public Library card and choose from our selection of mystery-wrapped “blind date” books. Check one out with the help of our friendly staff, take it home, and enjoy the surprise.

Once you’ve finished (or sampled!) your book, tell us how the date went—was it a perfect match or a terrible date?
Fill out a ballot and you’ll be entered into our Grand Prize Draw.

 How it Works
  • Visit any Georgina Public Library branch with a valid GPL card
  • Choose a wrapped Blind Date with a Book
  • Check it out and enjoy your mystery read
  • Complete the ballot included with your book
  • Return the book within the three-week lending period
  • Submit your completed ballot in the ballot box at the branch

Each completed ballot is entered into the Grand Prize Draw at the end of the contest!

Contest Details
  • Who can participate: Open to all Georgina Public Library patrons of any age
  • Contest starts: Tuesday, February 3, 2026 (library opening)
  • Contest ends: Friday, February 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Limit: One ballot per person
  • Ballots: If a ballot is lost, a replacement may be requested

Ballots may be obtained, completed, and submitted only at Georgina Public Library branches.

 Prize Draws
  • Grand Prize Draw: Tuesday, February 24
  • Winner notification: By phone on Tuesday, February 24
  • Prize pickup deadline: Sunday, March 1 at 5:00 p.m.

Prizes must be picked up at the selected branch or alternate arrangements must be made with library staff. If a prize is not claimed by the deadline, it will be forfeited and another winner will be drawn.

All decisions regarding prizes are final.

 Ballot Submissions
  • Each ballot must be fully completed with the participant’s name and phone number.
  • By submitting a ballot, participants grant Georgina Public Library permission to use their first name or initials and their written submission on social media, the library website, marketing materials, and reports.
  • All submissions become the property of Georgina Public Library.
  • All copyright is transferred to Georgina Public Library.
