Quickstart Guide to Using the Library

Enterprise (Georgina Public Library 's Online Public Access Catalogue) allows you to search for material and manage your library account online.

Don't have a physical library card? Get an online card.  Online cards are good for 60 days.

Searching for material

Click once in the white Search field at the top of the screen and type what you want to find. The drop-down menu to the left of the Search field may be used to change how you search -- by title, author, keywords, series, or subject. When you have chosen a search method and typed your request, click the orange Search button or press Enter to search the catalogue.

If your search finds multiple items, you can limit the search results by choosing categories along the left side of the Search Results screen.

To get more information on an item, click on the item title.

For more searching options, you can do an Advanced Search.

If you can't find an item you want, you can suggest we purchase the item.

Placing a Hold

If you want library staff to put an item aside for you, you can place a hold by following these steps:

  1. Find the item you want in Enterprise.
  2. Click on the Place Hold button on the right side of the screen. If you are not already logged in, you will have to login now using your 14 digit library card number, entered with no spaces, and your PIN.
  3. Select a pickup location and click on Place Hold.
  4. If the hold is placed successfully, you will see Success and then click OK.
  5. You will receive a phone call or an email when the item is ready for you to pick up. Hold times for all items is changed to 1 week instead of 2 weeks.

Remember to log out when you are done to protect your account security.

My Account

You can access your library account by clicking on My Account at the top of any Enterprise page. You will need your User ID (your 14-digit library card number, entered with no spaces) and your PIN. If you do not know your PIN, please call or visit one of our locations. Be sure to have your library card with you.

Update about your PIN

Due to a system update, the PIN you have been using is now case-sensitive. You can still use your existing PIN, but if you are having trouble logging in, it could be an issue with lowercase/uppercase letters.

If you wish to create a new PIN, the PIN now must be between 4 and 10 characters long and include 4 numbers.

Need to change your PIN? Go to our catalogue, click on "My Account", enter your library card number, and click "Forgot my PIN".

If you are trying to change your PIN in Enterprise and the new PIN does not meet the requirements, you will receive an error message.

What can I do in My Account?

  • See what items you currently have checked out, and if they are overdue

  • See what items you have on hold

  • Suspend or cancel your holds

  • Renew items

  • See your fines

  • Change your PIN

Remember to log out when you are done to protect your account security.

Please note: If your card has expired, and you are logged into your account on our catalogue page, you will notice a "Renew" button. If you click on the "Renew" button, the web page appears to reload, but your account has not renewed. Unfortunately, we are unable to hide the function from the page at this time. If you need to renew your card, visit or call any of our library branches.
