Georgina Public Library operates under the authority of Ontario Public Libraries Act R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.44, which defines the library's roles and responsibilities to the municipality and the province, and defines the services it is required to deliver. The Act establishes the Library Board as the governing body, responsible for setting policies and directing the affairs of the Library. The Board is also responsible for hiring a CEO who is responsible for carrying out the directions of the Board, and the day-to-day operations of the Library.
The regular, monthly meeting of The Georgina Public Library Board will be held on third Thursday at 7:00 p.m. of each month, and the meeting will be held virtually. Board meetings are broadcast through a live streaming tool on the Town of Georgina’s website. Anyone interested in speaking at a Board meeting must first complete and submit a form. For more information, please email Serena or call her at 905-476-5762 ext. 4516 to get details on how to participate.
