Library Services

Georgina Public Libraries offer services related to our library collections, such as borrowing, interlibrary loans and equipment rentals, as well as third party products and services. Some products such as municipal bins and York Transit tickets are sold as a service to the community but library customers should consult the appropriate vendor if they have questions about the product or availability.

Library Collections and Services

  • Interlibrary loan service to bring you books from outside of Georgina
  • Materials in a variety of formats to serve your information/recreation needs: books, large type books, eBooks, audiobooks, videos and music in digital formats, books on CD, music CDs, French books, DVDs, newspapers and magazines
  • Programming for children, teens, and adults

Technology and Audio Visual

  • Rental of projection screen and a slide projector--call for fees and booking requirements
  • Free broadband public internet access;
    Free WiFi
  • Web-based public catalogue (OPAC)

Accessibility Services

ZoomText 10 software for the visually impaired is available on one public computer in each of the three Georgina Library Branches. At the Keswick and Peter Gzowski (Sutton) Branches there are designated accessible computers that come with JAWS (screen reading software) and a scanner; a Big Track trackball; a large-key keyboard; a webcam; and headphones. The accessible computers also come with Kurzweil3000 software for reading and writing assistance.
Accessible computers are available for booking at your library branch; reservations are first-come, first-served.

Visiting Library Service

The Visiting Library Service, a Georgina Friends of the Library program, provides library materials to those who cannot visit us. For more information on accessing this service or volunteering to deliver books, please view the program description

Service Canada Georgina Outreach Site

Service Canada Representatives will no longer be providing service at the Keswick Branch. The closest service location is in Newmarket or refer to the Service Canada web site at



Welcome Centre Immigrant Services logo

Welcome Centre Immigrant Services provide a one-stop service under one roof designed to guide and support immigrants through the maze of information and resources in York Region. Services are provided free of charge. A Welcome Centre employee will be onsite in the library
the first Thursday of every month from 11-6 pm.


Town of Georgina/York Region Products and Services

Municipal sales of Blue Boxes (large $7.00), Green Bins ($20.00), beige Kitchen Catcher Bins ($5.00), garbage tags ($1.00 each), garage sale permits (free) and Town park permits (free to residents). Composters can be purchased ($35) at the Keswick Library and picked up at the Ice Palace office with the paid receipt. Fire Burning Permits are now available at the Pefferlaw Branch for the convenience of Pefferlaw residents.  Garage Sale permits are also available online at the Town of Georgina's Garage Sale Permit Request website registration form.

Resident Parking Passes are available starting in May and are available at all three branches. Residents must bring their current driver's license and proof of vehicle permit number for each vehicle (ownership) and provide their phone number for staff to register and issue the pass(es). Residents can now have a pass for each vehicle per household. e.g. 4 cars = 4 parking passes.

Meeting rooms are available to rent by the hour at all 3 branches. Call Recreation and Culture at 905 476-4301 ext. 2235 for information about fees and to book any of the library rooms. viva logo

York Regional Transit (YRT) tickets and passes are available at all three Branches. YRT prices change and customers should contact YRT for up-to-date pricing.

Please be advised that YRT Route 50 will provide weekend service to The ROC for the remainder of the Winter Season.
